I personally know someone in the US who was hospitalized with an apparently very severe case of the flu in November 2019. Not being a very compassionate person, that had me snarling because who the hell goes to the hospital for a case of the flu? I'm pushing sixty, I work a gruelling job that has me outside in all weathers while that person was in her early twenties and in excellent health, for crying out loud. Turns out the hospital informed her months later that they had performed a new analysis of her blood samples (apparently they hold on to those samples for whatever reason) and guess what they had found?..
