Thank you! I read your tweet last year or earlier this year and am very grateful 🙏🏼

Im unjabbed and recently tested positive Monday 29th actually, was quite ill but started taking NAC Quercetin, C,D,Zinc, K plus some herbal tinctures. Had forgotten about the Serra, seriously, I took one dose 120k on Thursday and I felt better the next morning! I’ve been taking all of the above plus 240k Serra and I’m good as of today, so not even a week. Not 100% but I’d say 95% rid of this virus. Serra made the difference I think. Especially with mucous. Enerex brand has a delayed release (DR) capsule

Thank you again for all you do!!❤️

Thank you for sharing you history, also I am glad you recovered. And yes, it is a similar experience with many people who try Serra, it is really good, especially at higher dosages for people with issues (which I have quite a few).

I hope you are ok now, and thank you for the kind words =).

Is 120k iu a lot for sera? My only comparison is vit d3 which i have 5k iu tablets of and 5k is high dose vit d i believe.5k vit d u need to take vit k2 in case of bone damage.so is it similar to high dose sera?

Moriarty's avatar

No, 80.000 to 120.000 are the "average" daily dosage. A high dosage would be upwards of 350.000 .

And no, Serra is to be taken alone, on a empty stomach, to have its fullest effects and benefits, it has "no" draw backs, it is completely natural. Some people stomachs may react bad, but I can't find a "clinical" reason in literature, outliers, but happens.

John Paul, just to add to the knowledge base-- I have allergic reaction to serrapeptase in the manifestation of swelling. (first reaction was swelled welts on the skin, 2nd time the reaction was major head/facial edema swelling (like T-zone area of the face-- forehead, area between the eyes / above the nose, and around the eyes. Which lasted for several days). So from that experience, I'm thinking first time users of serrapeptase, may wanna do a test / small dose first, to see if they have allergic reaction like I did.

Moriarty's avatar

I have written couple dozen times for people to start with a minimal dose, and go up from there.

Either that was an allergic reaction to the Serra, which can happen, or it burst a lot of bacteria out of biofilms, which causes a similar reaction. Just an FYI, most likely allergy to Serra but you never known.

Might want use Nattokinase, very different enzymes.

I don't have a clue, at least here (Brazil) they don't have anything added. Just the gel/gelatin capsule which they list as a ingredient.

Should be taken on an empty stomach - otherwise it acts as a digestive enzyme.

Beenz's avatar

is nattokinase the same?on an empty stomach only?

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

Yes, these enzymes should be taken on a empty stomach, their main "function" is to dissolve proteins, if you eat something, they will dissolve the food you ate.

Expand full comment
Pearl's avatar

Yes, according to Dr. Mercola if there is food in your stomach, nattokinase acts as a digestive enzyme. If your stomach is empty, it will clean up the protein in your blood. That's from my memory, but his article is now behind a paywall (on substack). Here's a different article, but it doesn't mention the empty stomach. https://www.naturalnews.com/2022-06-15-nattokinase-dissolves-blood-clots-prevents-new-clots.html

I don’t know if I shared it here, but on Twitter I do every chance I get. I had some POTs going on in Feb post COVID. A week at 125k Serra and 2000 nattokinase and it as astounding how much improvement. I now take about every two to three days. But may yolo your dosage. I’ve also noticed a scar on my stomach where I had an abscess removed has been shrinking.

I don't think you did, but I read quite a number of people recently telling me the same. It really does work wonders when you have inflammation or something going on.

Yeah I only saw a tweet about Natto today from a Japanese scientist who works at Hiroshima.

Japan is currently seeing an uptick in Covid deaths, which makes me wonder. I’m currently having some issues with some sort of inflammation I think, lots bone pain, a very sore wrist after leaning on it for a few minutes too last night, some what lethargic. Wonder if I had Covid or just having an immune flair? One year out from double vax. Might have to look at serro ? What would you recommend? I prefer low dose as I’m fairly sensitive to meds.

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

It is bone pain or joint pain ? Both have different "causes" speaking in a simplistic manner, bone pain often indicates a magnesium deficiency (on average it is the most common), joint pain man other things.

Last Covid infection I had joint pain for 5-6 weeks, was rather annoying.

Serra will help with the inflammation, if it is from Covid, therefore immune mediated, Berberine can be very helpful into bringing the immune system back into balance, higher doses of Vitamin D can also have this effect.

Start low if anything you try, as I often recommend. I am screwed enough that high doses of things usually don't backfire lol.

Expand full comment
Ozgirl's avatar

Oh thanks. I take magnesium powder for migraines daily so I shouldn’t be too low. I feel like it’s bone pain, but my wrist was probably joint. I should try Beriberine as years ago I had pneumonia ( could have been SARS ? As the kid that gave it to me had been to HongKong but at that time I didn’t even know about SARS but who the heck knows ) Got bad viral viral fatigue, some immune issues & then severe vertigo attack which I now still sometimes get plus my eyes went really dry & red, never got better. It was hell. Going to get on Vit D too now.

Thank you for your comment about enteric coating. As someone who does not take anything regularly (no prescriptions or supplements, but maybe 2-3 tylenol per year), I'm glad to know about the distinction between capsules with enteric coating and those without. Keep up the good work.

Thank you. My ENT has been recommending both for a few decades before and after surgeries.

What are your views on aspirin 5mg, when taken 12 hours apart?

There is a warning not to take them with blood thinners. However, there are many different blood thinners so I am unsure if aspirin 5mg could be taken with Natto and Serra? What do you think?

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

Not much problems at that dosage, Serra and Natto might become a bleeding problem under certain immune conditions, and with use of anticoagulants, which is not the main action of aspirin , pretty safe.

Take it 12 hours apart is a good rule.

Hi John TYSM for ur post! I’ve been taking 480k daily lately, it’s helping my allergies and my arthritis tremendously! My husband is taking even higher 360k-720k for his back pain (he takes when needed, not daily…when he specifically has long car rides).we’ve both had great results! I also started my rescue horse who has severe CPOD, lung damage & glaucoma on it. The ulcer in eye went away in 3 days, she had had the nickel sized ulcer for 8 months!! Then 3 days af serra it was gone! She also hasn’t had any breathing episodes since we started but I’m also steaming her hay so not sure which to contribute too, but probably both!

How much NSLL

Nala! Thanks for your info on your horse. I have a horse with a mild respiratory issue. She coughs at the beginning of our rides. What dosage are you using? My mare is a 1500lb warmblood. Also, what do you think about using Serra for equine arthritis? What is the dosage and how do you give it them? My horses rarely have an empty stomach so I wonder how it would work for them? I have an 17 year old AQHA gelding that is battling some arthritic changes and navicular. Id like him to obviously be in less pain. TIA!

Thank you. As informative as ever. I was interested in the insistence on the enteric coating. Over here (uk) they are tending to use a ‘serrateric’ coating. Will this similarly protect the enzymes?

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

It is a different type of coating with similar end results, to protect the enzymes, so yes you can opt for that too, it will do the same !

I started taking boluoke lumbrokinase after Covid. I spend a lot of my time researching on how to keep me n my family alive. Your Substack is a great resource. I was recently listening to a podcast where it was stated that TUDCA helped prevent misfolded proteins!

Expand full comment
hillcountry's avatar

Here it is from Pubmed

Tauroursodeoxycholic acid attenuates cisplatin-induced ototoxicity by inhibiting the accumulation and aggregation of unfolded or misfolded proteins in the endoplasmic reticulum

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33631298/

from the abstract:

"TUDCA was able to reduce cisplatin-induced apoptosis and alleviate ER stress in cochlear explants and OC1 cells. Under the cisplatin treatment, the expression levels of CRT, UGGT1, and OS9 in the auditory hair cell increased, and the expression of total ubiquitinated proteins decreased. TUDCA attenuated the effect of cisplatin on UGGT1 and OS9, and recovered the protein ubiquitination levels. After down-regulating CRT, UGGT1, or OS9, the protective effect of TUDCA decreased. In the cell-free experimental system, TUDCA inhibited the aggregation of denatured BSA molecules. In summary, TUDCA can attenuate cisplatin-induced ototoxicity, possibly by inhibiting the accumulation and aggregation of UFP/MFP and the associated ER stress."

I am confused! You seem to imply plain ole nattokinase isn't going to be effective (because it takes so long to degrade the spike?) by saying "meaning in a human you will probably need some adaptation and creative thinking or new drug development." or am I misinterpreting? What dosage of nattokinase do you think might help protect against COVID infection if any? Appreciate you!

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

That is my way of implying a higher dose, and perhaps adding Serratiopeptase.

Against Covid we would literally need actual tests, not only like this, because there is too much at play inside your body, many "confounders", it is best to use it to heal from the infection, there are better ways to avoid infection in my experience (Bromhexine).

Expand full comment
skylover's avatar

oh, did not know bromhexine is working again! what is the dose if taken as prophylaxis? Thank you for the super insightful posts and ofcourse your Cognitive stack!

Expand full comment
Moriarty's avatar

It always worked, but when this thing acquired L452, it usually makes Brom work better (a few different reasons). Prophylaxis I would take 8-16 mg daily, but I, myself, usually just at the first sign of sniffles.

An FYI of some sorts, if someone is taking antibiotics for anything, Bromhexine will make the antibiotics work better, and penetrate deeper =D.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes it is, also one of the few things that can penetrate the lungs, Omicron BA. 5 kinda went back that route, and many people who got it and took Bromhexine had positive results.

Vitacost.com carries the products (be sure to note the enteric coated tabs vs the veg caps) and I checked and they appear to ship to Europe. The shipping cost may be prohibitive— I didn’t follow all the way through the checkout process to see the shipping rates, only to see if European destinations were offered.

You could also try swansonvitamins.com. The shipping form allows you to select other countries but the form itself doesn’t change to accommodate the unique country’s mailing codes, so it’s a bit suspect.

Anyways, hopefully a couple of options for you.
