A few days ago my entire country experienced an unusual event, strong winds swept everywhere and caused massive damage. It looks like we are into one of those moments in history, where we live once in a century/millennia event every once in a while.
Worst Seoul Storm in 80 Years Kills Eight, Floods Capital
South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol holds emergency meeting
More rain is forecast through Thursday in Seoul region
My point for sharing these is not to bring on the mathematical probabilities of such events, or the politics behind them, which politicians will most certainly use to push their flawed “science” and agendas. In fact, I have a piece pinned, and another with just accounts from the said year, so my opinions on one of the particular causes of such drastic weather shift are already written, also, the things described in both pieces usually are 3 years cycle, minimum.
The reason I am sharing this is two-fold, to cross a point I have been raising, and bring it “home”. These massive disruptions affect the two cornerstones of civilization. Energy, and food. We start with the more sensible one, energy.
Sri Lanka will raise its state-run monopoly tariffs by 264% for the smallest consumers, while the higher ones will face a small increase, which is one of the few options the country has, already in the fact a sovereign default, with its society literally collapsing further and negotiating for a bailout, they must keep whatever little industry they have, running, operational, and by whatever metric somewhat profitable.
As I forecasted, and anyone with some common sense was able to, when the reality of a severe energy shortage and a massive spike in prices, any alternative energy source would start getting scarce from demand.
I have mentioned the following a few times on Twitter, and once here, but earlier this year, as it happens with accounts in a similar vein of mine, sometimes you get anonymous people sending you either insane ramblings or literal “intel leaks”, meaning information no one else is privy to, and sometimes… forecasts so out there even I can’t quite believe. And this was one of those, a single tweet of an account I can not find anymore.
Germany and Europe will burn their forests for coal.
The UK is preparing for regional blackouts coming Winter. Hungary eased its environmental regulations protecting its forest from logging so they attempt to be energy secure, and similar trends will come to play elsewhere. Global levels of coal consumption are expected to go to record highs this year, and next year will be no different, prices keep increasing with no possible change in sight, and coal, right now, is still the “cheapest” fuel source out there. I didn’t cover the LNG market recently because I thought it would induce levels of boredom, it is still the same in many ways, with spot (meaning buy outside of a contract) prices are high, and the bidding war is getting pretty intense, everything I covered in the last 8 weeks didn’t change, by luck either stayed the same or… well, you can judge from this piece alone.
Also, I would like to point out the irony of Europe reverting to coal, looking for other sources of gas and fuel in general, while completely shunning Russian coal, as I wrote more than once, the European elite is hellbent on bending the entire continent into its perverted Green agenda, whatever the economical costs and the European political elites don’t have the guts, the brain or anything else to do what is necessary to avoid disaster.
Sanctioning Russian coal means they need to source from other places which creates cascade effects elsewhere, effects most of my readers should be familiar with by now. Now 46% of the coal will have to come from elsewhere.
The energy costs right now are so high, that a few of the biggest suppliers of the most needed material in Europe are further cutting production, with the most impactful one being fertilizers. In total, the reduction of fertilizer production in the entire European continent is 40% so far.
This is a massive problem as we covered a few times here when less use of fertilizer is met with the whims of Mother Nature, leading to less nutritional value in food, and especially less yield, something we really don’t want right now. After months of covering the cascade effects, and the last few weeks writing opinionated pieces on it, I hope I got my point across. Why ?
Because now the entire mainstream media is talking about the same points I have been raising for months.
A catastrophic energy crisis will fuel a revolt against our failed elites
Politicians cannot shirk responsibility now for the extreme hardship millions of people are about to face
This is the summer before the storm. Make no mistake, with energy prices set to rise to unprecedented highs, we are approaching one of the biggest geopolitical earthquake in decades. The ensuing convulsions are likely to be of a far greater order of magnitude than those that followed the 2008 financial crash, which sparked protests culminating in the Occupy Movement and the Arab Spring. ...
PA Ag Sec. discusses 'potential' food shortage impacting global markets in coming months
“There are clearly pockets of pain across the state. We’ve seen it this year. Mainly more than others, because of some of climate related issues, the flood issues and Ukraine situation. I think the sensitivity on the front side of the production year, with extremely high costs and how the markets will respond. I look at all of that, that is all true.”
Before adding anything here, I shall refer to two of my first pieces.
This is merely for presenting a track record, and for you to understand how far back this goes, as I previously wrote back in January, the events in the first days of the month had enough significance to create a sizable impact on the system, even if at the time almost everyone played every single one of those down.
Now the mainstream media, probably fueled either by social media, some talking points from financial interests, or, by God’s miracle, a shred of common sense, attempt to announce the obvious. By far this is not what I do, and this isn’t the moment where I would start to. But as I referred on some of my pieces, if you adopt a generalized analytical framework mixing linguistics (syntax), frequency analysis, and adding memes (you can have a better idea of what I am talking about here) you can forecast social movements to a certain degree.
Either by a consolidated effort or because the obvious is showing itself, the human gestalt is picking up the signs of coming troubled times. There will not be enough energy around, not enough staples to feed people and raise animals, which will send the price of animal protein, especially beef to the sky-high, costs of input and fuel will further drive the price upwards long-term, and this is me ignoring any potential black swan events (that have been gracing us almost every other week). This is me once again, trying to pass on the point that before things get better, the laws of entropy demand things get somewhat worse.
I once again ask you, especially if European seriously consider stocking some food, but even non-Europeans, given different dynamics everywhere, most of the world will face food scarcity, with big pockets of starvation, which will surely set off small, contained but quite impactful civil unrest. You should also seriously consider printing maps from your region, so if the need comes, you have a planned escape route, I am being 100% serious. You can refer to many of my other opinion pieces to understand where I am coming from, and to have a better understanding on why.
And as I covered here somewhat superficially, energy is getting expensive, there is no reprieve on sight, this is affecting the production of most of the materials we need to keep the industry going. And as I wrote on Twitter in March, you should seriously consider buying any electronics you wish, or tools you need to work. Best case scenario, you save money because of inflation and avoid massive wait times.
We are at the point where things break down faster than our ability to replace them.
On a lighter note.
Truly how civilization fall. On a serious note, this is exactly how the Church lost power in the Middle Ages. Maybe it is the incentive many need to get off their backs and oppose everything they are pushing.
Super-short piece coming in the next few hours. If you want to know where the Entropy veneer came from. Jump to 2:29.
A very big thank you to all supporters here and those who use KoFi =) !
It's possible the political class knows what's coming/preparing ELE As Governments are buying up all -
Storable food, MRE,s and emergency food supplies.
Ammunition and firearms.
Night vision devices.
High-efficiency HVAC system components.
Potassium iodide pills (for protecting the thyroid from radiation damage).
Garden seeds and fertilizer.
Diesel fuel, diesel engine oil, and other transportation-related components.
A further complicating factor is the role of the sun, the weakening mag shield in all this. Also the EM energy we self-impose. But regardless of the multifaceted causes we must act together with what is possible. Yes, people will react as they must. Stay strong, stay grounded, stay real. Much will be required. There will be survivors.
