I wonder if statins in combination with Covid also cause the hyperglycemia. It seems that discontinuing statins or not being on statins is another way to reduce blood sugar levels too.

It can yes, very contextual.

Statins are one of the most counter-productive drugs there are IMO. They do not address the cause, merely one of the superficial symptoms.

This is what we experienced with Delta in 2021. I began monitoring our blood sugar upon infection because my husband used to be diabetic and our doctor recommended lots of Gatorade (yes, yes, I know NOW, that was bad advice.) My glucose numbers rose by 35% and his by 100%. It took a month for me to return to normal and him almost 3 months.

Early in the Delta wave, I kept seeing hundreds of posts on social media bout the hyperglycemia "from nowhere", same after the mRNA mass roll out. Also damn, double the glucose number, that is really big increase, glad it normalized.

I have seen some people taking the entire year (2022) to normalize and words didn't because jab > reinfection > jab > reinfection.
