Gigachad ASC II art because I felt like it. History behind the speech.
"People don’t want this and that, they want food, support, protection.
"I’ll give you an example. A friend of mine – did you see the Democracy speech? People don’t want this and that, they want food, support, protection? - well, a friend of mine escaped from Iraq back in 2000, before the war. His family escaped from Iraq, but three years prior his uncle was arrested and was going to be put to death. On Saddam Hussein’s birthday, however, Saddam let him go. Saddam did that: every year he let a few people go on his birthday. So they were escaping and they asked this uncle to come with them, and you know what he said? He said, ‘Why would I go? Yeah, he put me in jail and maybe it was a mistake, but I’ve got support, I’ve got my life, I’ve got it all. All I need is protection and food.’
"So they escaped and he stayed, this guy that was previously going to be put to death. He didn't want to leave. So that incident really made me think.”
An adult's friend's uncle would be pretty old. Older people have no great desire to uproot their lives - the story still stands but it's an important counter-point I think.
On the other hand the incredible lack of any desire for freedom is a long-depressing element of human society that drove me to leave the UK nearly 20 years ago.
This is not looking good at all. Aluminium smelters are so insanely energy intensive and you cannot turn them off. If you shut down one of the pots you need about 9 months to get it back up and running again. Places like Iceland will be loving that.
Clown World is what people voted for so Clown World is what we´re getting. I have come to accept it now. The old days before 2020 are gone. The Euro is screwed, everyone hates the USA and even the average person in the street in Europe is getting tired of all the Zelensky propaganda.
I wonder if the phrase "the cream will rise to the top" was ever true. All I can see now is "the shit floats to the top"
It has been happening for months, and people don't think it is a problem, the world has only so many buffers stocked to handle a massive drop in global production.
I haven't been since 2005 on a business trip. oregan and montana. i loved it. wish i could go back but I'm pure blooded. would have loved to have seen California in the 70s (well before i was born) or NYC 5yrs ago. theyre all gone now.
It’s kind of like how someone goes bankrupt. Gradually at first, then suddenly. We need food to live. But energy is the base of all things. Without sufficient energy, food cannot be created, transported, processed, or stored. I believe these things are going to come to a head this fall (the biggest stock market crashes seem to have been in the fall). It is probably going to be a dark winter of death and destruction. Especially for the mRNA vaccinated, I think. Buy food and a figure out a way to store it for long periods without energy. And be prepared to defend yourself. Especially in cities and suburbs.
One extra thought to add: The Phoenician Empire collapsed I think from several badly timed disasters, natural disasters/famine/drought/war/etc. happening at same time.
Similar to now, if we add in natural disaster such as a pole shift or a 'megaquake and tsunami' that might tip the situation from 'chaos' to 'complete collapse'.
This (Brazilian) guy says the plates are quieting down and blocking and when they release itll cause a megaquake and tsunami. Im no geologist but looking on the USGS website might prove him right. He also has thoughts on the diesel oil shortage which would cripple transport. He thinks both issues are imminent.

Some games are more like lite version of books, that was one of the few that attempt new things, and covered something that I had a severe concern about.
The rising in use of Private Military Companies and how they shift the balance of power, etc. It is historical too, for thousands of years mercenaries were the norm, but in the Middle Ages, nation states came together with organized religion, took 400 hundred years but they killed the mercenary business.
Than Eric Price by himself revived the busines and now it is MASSIVE.
I hear at conferences where wealthy go to hear people talk about economic and political realities, a common question is, how do I keep my payed protectors from killing me?
You pay double what whoever sent them paid you. But there are other problems there.
Most mercenaries around the world are usually ruthless, in for the money or for the kill (literally), but brits and americans sometimes are in for something more. Those are the ones they won't be able to pay, and they will end up in a ditch somewhere in New Zealand, or something.
I told a friend recently who I talk too about such things, I would feel safe if I lived in an eco-village where all the men and women had MMA and sword training and their own AR, the men also builders and the women powerful plant healers...

My species sucks. :'(

I love the US though =D.

I always thought the prophecies of the end times in the Bible were exciting and interesting, but when I’m living them, they seem pretty scary.
It is not the end of the world though, just massive, rapid changes, faster than we as a species can cope. World will be very different in 10 years.
All these things must happen…

Great write up as usual thanks!

hmmmm...
Democracy, despite the difficulty of supporting, protecting and feeding myself...
or, warlords competing to support, protect and feed me?
Yeah, I'll take Democracy. No thanks, warlords.
