I still need to write the second part of the HGMB1 article, but I suspect the "odd" anticancer effect of all of these proteins/toxins comes down to the numerous effects of HMGB1, which is extremely hard to target precisely.

Professor - "One of my questions, left unanswered was always “What happens when a virus persistently and abundantly uses widely expressed receptors ? Does the body downregulate its expression, meaning lower the quantity present in cells ?” SARS-CoV-2 posses what I call “hierarchical receptor usage”, it basically binds to receptors and may change which one via complex interaction within the body (protein-protein interactions, immune system, etc)."
The answer lies in mimicry, glycosylation and proteins Mr Mulder
I did 3 x 6 month treatments of Colostrum and while it was helpful, High Dose Lactoferin is better for me. Colostrum was more expensive than my High Dose Lactoferin (3,000 to 7000 mg) which works like a charm combined with Methylene Blue. I am back to lifting weights again after 35 years of pain.
Butyrate is one of the 5 key facts that Dr Leo Galland proposed as a cause of long covid. He proposed that loss of Butyrate has major implications for GI health, immune function and brain health and that the reason for low Butyrate is the loss of Faecalibactrium prausnitzii, which facilitates creation of Butyrate. His post covid recovery protocol includes boosting Butyrate production once the infection is cleared.
One of the reasons I don't blanket recommend butyrate is because it is very "subset" dependent, when people have butyrate deficiency because of a shift in the microbiome as the case with a couple subset of Long Covid/Covid after-effects, it can really make a major difference, because of the reasons you wrote, and because it can bring balance to dysfunctional immune cells.
But in a small subset of LC, it can have a good initial effects, with a weird rebound down the road. Still worth the consideration, especially if your markers are similar to what is describe here (dysfunctional NK/CD8 cells), if a person can't afford a microbiome test because those are expensive, I would just say "try butyrate for 6-8 weeks".

"Things hidden in complexity"... well titled. No one string to pull to unravel. Unfortunately.
... Which is why it would be a particularly stupid idea to use a 100% m1u modified agent that blocks both these PRRs in transfected DC's:

Closer and closer to a solution. Added Bovine Lactoferrin to the mix! https://today.ucsd.edu/story/gulf-war-illness-caused-by-mitochondrial-dysfunction-not-inflammation
Have you tried Colostrum ? If Lactoferrin help, Colostrum may be your best bet, but it is very hard to come by.
It has some if not the best "health effects" overall of any "supplement".
