The fact ticks are involved is a dead giveaway that this isn't some natural evolution. Tick borne biowarfare is something the US has been doing for decades. Lyme disease and many other nasties were either purposely or accidentally leaked. They've been breeding and genetically modifying ticks to be more mobile and to carry more diseases, while also doing GoF on those diseases.
