This is a thread I wrote on Twitter in October 2021. There isn't anything new to anyone but I rather post here too with some new additions. It fits the major theme of some of the next posts. Another more useful one coming in a few hours.
As weeks go on I will SLOWLY build this How to survive 2022. Something feels off, don't know where the pandemic will shift.
Autism feels malevolence in the air.
They are desperate of losing power and afriad of consequences of their actions. The price for 2 years of misguided stupidity is coming due and all must pay it's burden.

First order of business.
If you can afford, buy solar panels, gradually.
If you can't afford, buy portable ones, enough to recharge flashlights, cellphone and tablets. I am doing this one right now.
Blackouts are coming globally, and the grid will start failing locally if not addressed, the lack of parts and workforce basically grants it. Hopefully they can stop the contagion from spreading and causing actual systemic failure.
I have in good authority that most of the logistical/maritime companies expect things to get to normal Q2 2022. But nobody takes into account CASCADES. Ripple effects.
These shortages intensified the last 3 months since I wrote this thread, this is the biggest pressing matter for all readers. You should really weight your options and plan it out about stocking whatever spare parts you need.
As a hedge against the cascade effects you can read in the Daily Briefings and posts titled “Everything …”, you should bite the bullet and buy whatever electronics you either want or need. There is no feasible path where these lower in price, in fact mobile service providers are now raising the price of their phones for the first time in a while.
Prepare accordingly.
This isn't the end of the cascade but merely the second domino in a 5000 line.
Start stocking one or two of each sparing part you need, either to make money or to literally survive.
Redundancy=resilience
Second order of business.
Start SLOWLY stocking non-perishable. Regardless of what midwits say or try to forecast.
Everything used to grow food went up 100%. They expect to go up 50%. The drastic storm season Brazil will experience is months away. 1
Refer to my volcano thread. Regardless if they blow up, too many active ones will fill the atmosphere with toxic chemicals, which will impact crops, globally. Plus, new locust plague coming.
Parts of SA may soon be INFESTED by ‘a record number’ of brown locusts
A grim warning has been sounded by agricultural community, as ‘one of the worst brown locust infestations on record’ is now heading for South Africa. 2
Scarcity the coming years will be a rule. You better learn how to live a simpler life.
First worlders will have to learn how to third wolders live.
First aid and mainly drugs. There is already shortages of some drugs in different countries. China power crunch, India will also have one, drugs shortage will be a reality.
There are sites whom sell prescription only, stock some the next 2 months.
This is a separate step, specific to YOUR condition. If you need "something" to work or earn money, you should have said sparing parts, but the ones with highest failure rate. Believe me, you don't want to need a sparing part in Jan/Feb lmao.

Good suggestions. I picked up 4- Grape solar 100w panels from the big box store, 6 of the Sok 12v 100ah Lifepo4 batteries, 2-Epever 40a mppt charge controllers and Voltworks 2000w and 3000w pure sine wave inverters along with the recommended cables, fuses and connectors. Jackery 1000w with 2 of the same brand folding panels for more portability. The Acopower portable folding 100w solar panels are decent.
I have been prepping off the "100 things that disappear in an Economic Collapse" list since March 2020. Seperate Plans for staying at home and heading to the cabin. If you don't have rural land, Find a place to rent on short notice (off season collapse timeframe) in a rural area, maybe a week-2-week motel room in a state forest recreation area. Scope it out and make friends there now, volunteer at local charities to build trust. Good luck!

Not sure if it was here or read elsewhere but if serious blackouts will happen in Europe/world you will not be able to prepare for it. Cascade effect as you say will be so serious you will have to implement survival strategies by the day. The one thing you should stock then is weapons...
