Interesting about writing. I've often wondered, seeing images of students in classrooms staring at screens with or without keyboards how they learn and retain anything. Physical note taking with a pencil and paper was integral to the learning, at least when the instructors bothered to present something that was not simply reiterating a textbook.
It's only a matter of time before AI infiltrates healthcare and the practice of medicine. It will be interesting to observe the mental lethargy and the consequences when that time arrives.
Don't be ashamed to say Happy Easter!... considering science proves religion:
Atheists and agnostics would start to find answers in peer-reviewed Near Death Experiences. Consciousness, intelligence, will, are all spiritual properties of the spiritual immortal soul. How do we know that? some of the blind from birth see in colors for the first time when they are brain dead (no electricity, no activity, no bloodflow, no oxygen) and also no heartbeat and no breathing. The same happens with some of the deaf: they listen for the first time to conversations around or if they go up, even celestial music!
“there are characteristic features that are commonly observed in NDEs. These characteristics include a perception of seeing and hearing apart from the physical body, passing into or through a tunnel, encountering a mystical light, intense and generally positive emotions, a review of part or all of their prior life experiences, encountering deceased loved ones, and a choice to return to their earthly life.”
"God is love" says the Bible, the Word of God (1 John 4:7-12) Do you believe in love? then you believe in God. How do you prove love to yourself? If you prove love, you prove God! There’s no love without God, the source of all true love. He’s not only the love of my life, He’s the life of my love!
Jesus said “I’m... the life.” (John 14:16)
“God gives life to everything.” (1 Timothy 6, 13)
Do you believe in life? You prove life, you prove God, eternal life, source of all life:
That is where you should start your journey of discovery, but first pray: "God, life of my love, if you exist, please show me the way to find the bliss of knowing You"
or even better:
Think this with your heart: “Jesus, if you are the Son of God, I consecrate my heart to your Heart. Please send me the Holy Spirit so I can see Truth and have the courage to convert and follow Him wherever He leads”
Mathematical proof of God’s mind
Who could have imagined that mathematical images could be so beautiful?:
Then, show that every single person in the planet should be suing Pfizer and Moderna for deliberately hiding human DNA in their vacicnes, and Pfizer, for injecting an undisclosed carcinogenic monkey virus (SV40) sequence into the cell nucleus of the clueless biohacked, as officially recognized by Health Canada !!!
If he doesn’t like the topic, I’d show this video (all you need is 10 secs in the middle, who doesn’t have 10 seconds for you):
(caveat about the beginning: pot destroys your brain + “Raises Risk of Heart Attack and Stroke”)
9/11: two "planes", yet the third tower (WTC7) imploded, free falling on its footprint like in a controlled demolition. It was out of reach, and all 7 World Trade Center towers needed to be rebuilt, not the closer towers not belonging to World Trade Center... and the “owner” took an insurance policy for the WTC against terrorism, just months before, when no one was taking them … he didn’t show up for work precisely on 9/11 … just as his 2 grown up siblings (they never skipped work before). The inside information about the FUTURE 9/11 event helped masons make trillions by shorting the stock exchange: the records were deleted by the SEC so they wouldn't be prosecuted !!!
Please watch all of this! Your life depends on it, because there's a plan to murder 95% of the global population by 2050… written on the masonic Georgia guide-stones: “Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 … ”:
President John Quincy Adams: “Masonry ought forever to be abolished. It is wrong - essentially wrong - a seed of evil, which can never produce any good.”
If you are a mason or know a mason, ask him to ask his 33° master to put in writing and sign it, who is "the great architect" and that he is not Lucifer. If he refuses, then he’ll know who he is really serving, Satan: tell him to get out of masonry NOW. Sooner or later he’ll be required to trample on a cross to get to a higher degree.
Confessions of a former mason (Serge Abad-Gallardo):
God Bless you, too. Such a sweet, appreciative feeling swept through me as I read your words today and saw the picture of your pens and notebook. I am an old lady and can still remember the year or so of Ruth Kittle penmanship we were taught in our little grade school back in the Fifties. Our teacher took that 45 to 50 minutes or so as seriously as she did our math or English. Arthritis has almost taken out my thumbs so it's much more difficult to write now, but I do find I can organize my thoughts more easily if I take the big ideas from articles online and write them down on my notebooks or calendar.
Writing by hand, saying it out loud , and being slightly cold. That was my study approach based on reading about brain usage and learning of the impact of thyroid hormones to brain acuity . Add some coffee or the John Paul Moriarty stack , lol
When I walk by government offices with legions staring at screens I wonder if my taxes are causing any real work to be achieved.
So far I think they are only impeding productivity.
When I was a rookie they booked me eight patients per hour and I could usually finish by 5. (Admittedly with a few charts left over and letters to dictate!)
As the decades progressed productivity decreased in proportion to the amount of computing required, terminally down to four per hour in the full EMR setup. The accessibility of medical imaging online was sometimes useful but certainly used up time compared to taking a list of studies in to review with the radiologist.
Without reading your referenced study, I note that the sampling would have worked for me, a dedicated one-finger typist. It would be fun to repeat the work with the typing done with subjects at a 40- or 50-wpm skill level.
Happy Easter to you and your family. We attended a beautiful and moving Choral Evensong at the Cathedral this afternoon.
🤝 It's so nice to "meet" someone else that likes fountain pens! Although, dip pens are my favorite above the regular fountain pens. I love the feel of both kinds in my hand, the feel of the nib running across the paper. Here's to really writing! (And building our brain power!)
when I read something in a book, I remember it better than when I read it on screen. when at school, I hardly needed to study anything, because we had to copy everything from the blackboard into our notebooks. when I write things down a few times, I remember them (thankfully so, as I often forget my shopping list, lying on the kitchen table). I think this goes for most people!
I am a life long musician. A few years ago I had a fully loaded music production computer with all the software anyone would want. THEN, one day, it just stopped working. I still have it all and I think it can be fixed... The cool thing is that at that point I began writing music by hand!!! I don't think I'll ever go back. Now, it's all pen and paper - I even draw the staff and (I'm a guitarist) fretboard diagrams. I think some of it qualifies as art!
I use Sharpie Ink (not gel) fine points with a Westcott see through ruler for strate lines. I think it DOES IMPROVE COGNITION AND UNDERSTANDING!
We are visiting my daughter and granddaughters for this week. I had the privilege of working with my 9 year old granddaughter on her homeschool lessons this morning. She is highly intelligent but struggles with tracking in reading and handwriting. They’re in process of getting her diagnosed- maybe dyslexia or dysgraphia.
It has been 6 weeks since I last saw her. Today she was determined in her lessons and I allowed her to struggle till just before she got too discouraged. It is easy to do it for them but what an amazing thing to see them persevere and make progress. Devices make things too easy.
Your comments on lazy minds rings true. Im seeing it as a problem with young cashiers who can’t count back change in their heads.
There is this country that stopped using tablets for children in class in favor of pen and paper... i should have written the country :p

True,—This!
Beneath the rule of men entirely great
The pen is mightier than the sword. Behold
The arch-enchanters wand!— itself a nothing!—
But taking sorcery from the master-hand
To paralyse the Cæsars—and to strike
The loud earth breathless!—Take away the sword—
States can be saved without it!
Edward Bulwer-Lytton - Richelieu; Or the Conspiracy - 1839
