I'm visiting organic grass-fed dairy farmer friends of mine in southern Wisconsin. Nick and I met when we both did some writing for the Doomstead Diner, after the 2008 credit collapse. He is also a mechanical engineer by training, a generalist and a spiritual seeker. We are both feeling the quickening. We have both been here before, it feels very familiar to 2007, but with so much more momentum, at such a greater scale. We both knew this was coming, we knew it would come when they did not fix the structural problems back in 2009-11. Knowing it will come and being ready for it however are vastly different things.
I told him last night, I feel as ready as I could be, but I would feel a lot more ready if I lived in an ecovillage and all the men had MMA training and their own AR-15s and the women were herbalists and dulas and appreciated good men and were a good shot too...
