Hope the readers are enjoying a nice Saturday. Today I would like to “signal” boost someone I followed for a few years now, and at the forefront of bringing awareness to the elite’s green goals of removing animal protein from most people’s access.
Here is the original thread, I will merely copy the text here. You should definitively follow him if you use Twitter and read more of his work. The post is really long, if it breaks down on your e-mail, use the Substack site itself.
UNEP is now working on a document that will "assess" imitation foods, tissue-engineered lab meat & microbial biomass. To be published February-March 2023. No doubt anti-livestock agendas of all sorts will be loudly amplifying its outcomes next year.
Will we be told in the name of Planetary Health, that plant-based "eggs", "fish", "dairy" & "meat" made from protein isolate, refined oils & texturizes are better for us & the planet? Or that bioreactors are as good or better at making
&
than
?
Let’s be clear: even if the word "complement” is used in the text, the entire effort seems to be more about maximizing the degree of "replacement“. So that we can achieve a "time beyond meat“ & some sort of "potential end state" (?)
Not completely unexpected though; UNEP's laureates, Beyond and Impossible Foods, say as much: they want to *destroy* animal agriculture.
When is all this supposed to happen? After they will have “helped UN Member States understand” what needs to be done, things should start to become serious during the next 1-2 decades. Impossible Foods claims by 2035. AT Kearny agrees: by 2040. Branson aims at 2050.
Activists will tell us to “follow the science”, but here’s a question: are the experts to be trusted? It looks like they were found after some “rapid consultations” (?) In addition, UNEP has partnered with “selected organizations”. Interesting ones. Keep scrolling.
Among the experts: AT Kearney (predicting the end of meat in 2040), the Stockholm Environment Institute (sister organization of EAT’s founder, the Stockholm Resilience Centre), EAT-Lancet’s Herrero, & the Good Food Institute, ...
This is the list of "expert organizations": the folks behind the “Meat Atlas”, Oxford Uni’s LEAP, ProVeg International, EAT & Stordalen Foundation, ReThinkX, the major vegan tech & lab meat industries, ...
Which gives us an intersection with Action Track 2 of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit (for those who have followed that): Herrero, EAT, Good Food Institute, & ProVeg (member of 50by40).
In case you don't know what EAT is - it is an organization telling us to adopt a Planetary Health Diet that would only allow for 0-14% of kcals coming from animal foods. Red meat is labelled as "unhealthy".
EAT is modelled on the World Economic Forum, and calls itself a "Davos for Food". Its founder is a Young Global Leader of the WEF.
In a UN Food System Summit's paper led by Herrero, the EAT-centred AT2 group already mentioned that we need to embrace microbial protein production, insects, algae, etc., to fill in the food gap created by heavy livestock reduction.
I mentioned the 'Davos for food' initiative above (EAT), & links with the WEF are indeed not hard to find. Davos published white papers in its "Meat: the Future" series, arguing for the consumption of insects, lab-engineered tissue, algae, fungi, 3D-printed faux meats, ..
Through their communication channels, the WEF keeps on reminding us that *YOU* "will be eating replacement meats within 20 years". And all of the other things that we are supposed to see as valid alternatives for meat.
WEF insist: WE ALL need to go on EAT's Planetary Health Diet that has been designed for us. As representatives of the planet's most toxic corporations, they even managed to officially partner with the UN. Which means that they're now intimately involved in UN initiatives.
These are the same people who push climate change and attempted to propagandize people a few years later on climate lockdown, and they will try it again. They are also the powerful elites who pushed banks to remove capital access from fossil fuel companies, limiting capacity and innovation leading to our current global energy crunch, and the ones who lobbied politicians to pass laws causing the same problem, expensive fuel, and severely limited stock of the same.
These people need to be opposed, hard and soon.
i get the feeling these people want us all dead
well the feeling is mutual
Great post and well researched!
The "pea meat" is just a more expensive form of peas. Frozen peas taste better than "impossible burgers".
I wonder if Covid was designed to dull the smell and taste of of people, to make them accept Bill Gates promoted "impossible meat" due to not being able to tell the difference.
