I had matters to attend to today, in fact, I spent most of the day dealing with said matters, and wasn’t expecting to write anything out of the blue like that. Yet, evolution doesn’t sleep or stop.
Many will know it has been a long endeavor of mine to keep an eye on outbreaks of new diseases, especially in the last 18 months, therefore it would come as no surprise that I would cover this one.
Alerta máxima en Tucumán por un virus no identificado que causa neumonía: qué se sabe hasta ahora
The Ministry of Public Health of Tucuman warned that a bilateral pneumonia outbreakl in that province, where six cases have already been registered, of unknown origin and etiology. Two people died and four others remain hospitalized.
“We have detected an outbreak of bilateral pneumonia in six patients, this disease is a manifestation of many respiratory diseases”, he explained louis medina ruizhead of the provincial health portfolio, at a press conference.
Bilateral pneumonia is a lung infection which is among the frequent sequelae of covid. It can happen through a bacteria or virus acquired during hospitalization or involvement of the lungs with respiratory disease.
Medina Ruiz explained that, before diagnosing with the appropriate disease, suspicions first pointed to covid, influenza, influenza A, influenza B and Hantavirus, but all were discarded.
The official stated that “we have not yet found the etiology despite continuing to study not only viruses, but also bacteria, with cultures through a study called FilmArray, which investigates 25 germs, and they also tested negative.
Bilateral pneumonia is a rather common long infection per what the news piece describes, it often is a sequential event similar to early SARS-CoV-2 days, the viral infection deprives the body of the necessary nutrients and resources, sometimes creating a deficiency of certain nutrients and any opportunistic pathogen using that change to create disease.
The major problem in question is that this isn’t anything they could test for, 25 different bacteria, any of the Influenza they tested OR a coronavirus or hantavirus. Which means it is of unknown origins. Here is the translated Twitter from CoronavirusArgg (Twitter account).
Cases came from the same local. 2 dead, 3 hospitalized and by the information, I could gather in bad condition and the remaining person is in good condition per the tweet. As I wrote half a dozen times here, you should expect outbreaks of novel diseases and unknown causes.
My main concern here is if this was a small “incursion” of avian influenza. Let me make my case.
I have been tracking down the other two pandemics we have been living under for over 2 years now, one is the African Swine Fever, not a problem for human beings, but a massive problem for protein security globally. The other at first was HPAI (highly pathogenic avian flu), also at first from a purely “protein security” perspective, but pretty fast it became a real concern as there were signs of potential for human transmission (and gain of function).
As things evolved I slightly changed opinions, as more evidence of the effects SARS-CoV-2 and the Spike Protein had on our physiology I started paying attention to other viral outbreaks. As I wrote earlier this month, we got millions of gain of function bioreactor for potential new diseases.
This new localized, potentially self-contained outbreak is intriguing because it is off the radar of the commonly tested diseases, I do not expect this to become a new pandemic, but I am attentive to any signal of potential epidemic outbreaks of any newer strains of avian flu.
There was also the first recorded death in history of a porpoise (a distant cousin of dolphins in a crude way) by avian flu H5N1. And I wrote recently that the current avian flu pandemic went seasonal, gave a respite, and now it is back, probably with a vengeance. There was also this unknown respiratory virus progressing very fast in dogs in New Hampshire, also leading to pneumonia.
Someone should start testing people with unknown pneumonia and animals for different strains of influenza of different origins.
Normal posting resumes tomorrow or Friday, and as much as I try my best to send one e-mail per day max, I might have to break this self-imposed rule soon.
Massive appreciation to all supporters here and on Kofi !!!
I wonder how many different viral and bacterial infections normally come and go without us knowing. I do know that we are in a different place than we've ever been, with so many people injected with the same product....
You can break the rule. You're more interesting and science based that a lot of fluff on here.
